A mosaic is a pattern or image made of small regular or irregular pieces of colored stone, glass or ceramic, held in place by plaster/mortar, and covering a surface.
Mosaic is the art of making pics with an assemblage of small portions of colored glass, stone, or different substances. The earliest recognized examples of mosaics made of various substances have been located at a temple building in Ubaid, Mesopotamia, and are dated to the second one half of of 3nd millennium BCE.
